Everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog, Sonic, will be hurtling onto iOS for an upcoming mobile game to mark the 2020 Olympics.
Titled Sonic At The Olympic Games, the mobile-only title was announced over the weekend as part of Sega’s lineup of new games to coincide with Tokyo 2020.

Sega’s new Olympics titles
There’s not much known about the game yet. It is one of four new games announced by Sega, which will be coming to various platforms. The other games include Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games — Tokyo 2020, Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Arcade Edition, Olympic Games: The Official Video Game for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch, and Sonic At The Olympic Games – Tokyo 2020 for iPhone and Android.
This is the latest in a long-running Sega franchise to coincide with the Olympic Games. The first title in the series was released for the Nintendo Wii back in 2008. It was the first time that Mario and Sonic, both beloved mascots of Nintendo and Sega respectively, had teamed up for a video game.
The Tokyo Summer Olympics kicks off on July 24 next year, and continues through August 9.
This isn’t the only Sonic-related news we’ve heard as of late. Last week, Apple announced its forthcoming Apple Arcade service. This will feature exclusive games for iOS made by a range of top developers. One of these titles is Sonic Racing.
