We’re just a day away from the launch of Fortnite season seven and players have plenty to look forward to. One thing we really weren’t expecting was just revealed in a brand new leak.

Fortnite is getting a new Creative Mode that will give fans the opportunity to build their own islands and run their own servers for private Battle Royale matches with custom rules.

Epic Games has already given us a Playground mode that gives players an hour to do whatever they want. It offers ample weapons and resources so that you can improve your gun skill, practice building, or face off against a few friends.

But with the new Creative Mode, you’ll be able to do a lot more than that.

Fortnite’s Creative Mode puts players in control

Creative Mode brings Fortnite closer to Minecraft in that players will be able to run their own server with their own rules. They’ll be able to build islands from scratch, create custom games, and more.

The new mode was revealed in a recent YouTube stream, which showcased its different terrain options and buildings — as well as how to access new maps. It seems Epic will offer some new base maps, plus give players the ability to build their own.

Epic has already confirmed it has some big news to share at The Game Awards tomorrow and it looks like we now know what that will be. We also expect to find out more about season seven itself.

What to expect from Fortnite season 7

We’re all but certain that season seven will bring winter to Battle Royale. A storm cloud spotted above the game’s island has been moving closer, and Epic’s recent teasers have all hinted at an icy theme ahead of the holidays.

It’s likely we’ll see new snow areas around the map, then, as well as wintery outfits and other cosmetics. There will obviously be a new Battle Pass with over 100 new rewards on offer, too.
