If you are a snow lover and love to take your snowboard binding and glide on a snowy hill, then this news is definitely going to make you happy as the new files discovered in Fortnite’s latest update all but confirm a snowy map makeover to be on the way.
An approaching storm cloud appeared in Battle Royale earlier this week, leading fans to speculate about a white Christmas. Now it’s looking increasingly likely that the game’s first real winter will arrive with season seven.
This won’t be the first Christmas celebrated by Fortnite; festive decorations were added to the game last year, alongside Christmas costumes. But we didn’t see any significant changes to the map to mark the occasion.
It seems Epic Games will make up for that this year.
Winter is coming to Fortnite Battle Royale
FNBRLeaks on Twitter has uncovered new sound files in Fortnite’s latest update that represent footsteps on snow. They are not the same sound files used when players walk on snow in Viking Village.

The discover all but confirms the Battle Royale map will see more snow soon. It’s likely large areas of it will be covered — or a new snowy area will be added — as the storm cloud moves in.
Fortnite season seven is scheduled to arrive in early December, so we won’t have to wait long to see what Epic has in store for us. Until then, we’ll bring you more leaks like this one as soon as they surface.
