Think about how nice it would be to have the best lighted bathroom mirror and dim the lights without having to get out of the tub. That’s one of the promises of the Adore Bathroom lighted mirror as it can be controlled from your iPhone or iPad.

The center of this product is a standard mirror that’s about 20 inches across. This is surrounded by a while LED light that can be dim or bright.

Unlike many other products in the Philips Hue line, the only color it offers is white. Its maker talks of it going from a “soft glow” to “cool white daylight.”

Philips Adore with HomeKit home automation

There’s a wireless remote that hangs on the wall, but the real strength of the Adore is support for Apple’s HomeKit home automation system. With a Philips Hue Bridge, this light (and many others) can turn themselves on and off on timers, or be controlled remotely.

This is very handy when it’s the living room lights, but perhaps not as useful in the bathroom. Still, there might be an advantage to having the bathroom light come on in the morning while you’re trying to get out of bed.

Because the Philips Adore will be used around water, it offers IP44 water resistance. It can survive humidity and even splashing.

Listing the new Adore on Philips’ website might have been premature. Possibly even an accident. It is described as Out of Stock, with no price given. That’s expected to change soon.
