Long time Apple manufacturer Foxconn has revealed that its U.S. corporate headquarters will be located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
This is close to its proposed U.S. factory in Wisconsin, which will reportedly be used for producing smartphone displays for clients. Foxconn is building a sprawling $10 billion campus in the area as part of President Donald Trump’s bid to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.
Foxconn’s new Wisconsin HQ
Around 500 people will work in Foxconn’s seven-story building in downtown Milwaukee. This would add to the roughly 13,000 local jobs that will reportedly accompany Foxconn’s new campus in the region. Wisconsin’s state Assembly voted last August to approve a bill offering Foxconn a $3 billion incentive package for its new plant. The new campus will supposedly open in 2020. Its not clear when the HQ will open.
Foxconn is the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, and employs more than 1 million people worldwide. It recently celebrated its thirtieth birthday.
While it is best known as the company which builds many of Apple’s devices, Foxconn is also seeking to establish itself outside of Apple. This includes growing its data center business, building smart devices, and more.
