The classic PC strategy game Rome: Total War is coming to iPhone, and we couldn’t be more excited. The bad news? Developers Feral Interactive have announced that it is taking them a bit longer than expected. The good news? They’ve shared a gameplay video to keep us sweet, and it looks pretty darn awesome.

Check it out below.

Rome: Total War first arrived on PC back in 2004, before being ported macOS in early 2010 and iPad in late 2016. While the iPad version was an impressive feat in its own right, the developers announced on October 31 2017 that it is now coming to iPhone as well.

For anyone who spent hours playing the game — which takes players through the mid and late Roman Republic and early Roman Empire — on desktop or laptop back in the day, the idea that we will soon have the opportunity to recreate the experience on iPhone is pretty mindblowing.

Unfortunately, it seems that you’ll be waiting a little bit longer to get your hands on it. “Rome wasn’t rebuilt in a day,” the developers write on Twitter. “Extra time is needed to deliver its full scale and superb gameplay to the smaller screen.”

How well will the experience work on the small display of an iPhone? We’re intrigued to find out.
