An RPG set in the Harry Potter universe, but where you get to create your very own wizard or witch and lead them through the Hogwarts school experience, sounds all kinds of amazing.

That’s the basis for a forthcoming iOS game, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, which is set to land in the App Store any day now. Check out the gameplay trailer below.

All your favorite Hogwarts moments

As the trailer demonstrates, Hogwarts Mystery features all the familiar Hogwarts moments — from the owl-borne delivery of your very own Hogwarts letter and the selection of which house you’ll be in to familiar professors and locations like Diagon Alley.

In the game’s story, you’re the younger sibling of a previous Hogwarts student, who was expelled and ran away. Digging deeper into their history, you discover that they believed there were secret vaults at Hogwarts and was dead set on finding them. As an added twist, the reason you thought they were expelled may not turn out to be the real reason at all!

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery isn’t the only Potter game we’re looking forward to on iOS this year. There’s another, potentially even more exciting game in the form of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, which promises to use Apple’s augmented reality ARKit to let users do a spot of virtual magic for themselves.

We’ll be back with a review of Hogwarts Mystery as soon as we can lay our hands on it.
