Grid Autosport, the iOS “console-quality” AAA racing game, just got even better, courtesy of an update.
It adds additional control options, including better car handling for people playing the game with MFi controllers. It also lets you switch off haptic feedback, as well as fixing bugs and making a couple of additional tweaks.
This is the second upgrade Grid Autosport has undergone since debuting in the App Store last November. The first update, back in December, focused on improving the game experience for anyone playing on the then-new iPhone X.
This latest improvement targets other Apple mobile devices. For example, it adds the game’s “Arrow Touch” controls to the iPad and iPhone SE versions. It also improves the default control settings, introduces “Pro” and “Custom” variants for Tilt and Wheel Touch controls, and brings an auto-accelerate option.
Along with the option to disable haptic feedback in iOS Settings, the update finally sorts out a few bugs to ensure that the game looks and plays as brilliantly as it ever has.
One of the best mobile racing games around
If you’re a fan of racing games and haven’t yet played Grid Autosport, it’s definitely worth checking out. It offers 100 cars and a whole lot of circuits — all for the one-off price of $9.99, with no additional charges for later content. The cars on offer include real-world vehicles made by Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bugatti, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and other manufacturers.
It’s worth noting that the game is fairly large, however. The actual download is 4GB in size, although a DLC pack is 912MB, and 623MB for the HD textures back. This latest update may make those numbers even bigger.
Still, this was one of my favorite games of 2017 — and definitely worth a play.
