CES 2018 bug At CES, Philips has announced that it will debut a brand new Hue 3.0 app for iOS, along with a Hue Sync app for Mac.

Both apps will arrive in Q2 2018. The redesigned Hue 3.0 app will offer owners of Hue lights the ability to alter the color of their smart lights with a color picker. They will also be able to instantly access their last used scenes, and to group lights and more easily select their desired color temperature or color.

The brand new Hue Sync, meanwhile, will sync up your Hue lighting with whatever is displayed on your computer screen. This will give users the ability to create and customize special “light scripts” for whichever games, movie, or other multimedia is being played on their computer at any given time.

Philips has continued to expand its Hue lights with additional light fixtures, starter kits, table lamps and more, alongside additional HomeKit support for the Hue Tap switch, dimmer switch, and motion sensor. Hopefully, the newly announced CES upgrades will continue to make the service even better.

This summer, Philips Lighting has also announced that it will take the Philips Hue experience outside the home with the debut of an original outdoor line.
