The iPhone 8 leaks continue to pour in thick and fast as Apple’s special event approaches. The latest, believed to be a SIM tray, all but confirms the all-new handset will be available in an all-new copper or “blush gold” color option.
The iPhone lineup has been available in the same color options for years now. Apple added a PRODUCT(RED) option to the iPhone 7 series earlier this year, almost certainly in an effort to boost weak sales, but we don’t expect it to be a permanent addition.
There will be new options for iPhone 8, however. Recent reports have promised us a new copper or “blush gold” model, which looks pretty spectacular in early, unofficial renders. Now those claims may have been confirmed by what is said to be a leaked iPhone 8 SIM tray.
The images were published by Benjamin Geskin, @VenyaGeskin1 on Twitter, who has become well-known for his iPhone leaks. Assuming they are genuine, they reveal the new gold finish for iPhone 8 that’s significantly darker than previous gold models.

It’s not totally clear what the other color options will be. We can see another SIM tray in silver in the photo above, but we don’t know if the existing black and jet black options will be sticking around. It’s unlikely Apple would offer just two models, however.
The company’s plans will become clear next Tuesday, September 12, when it hosts its big iPhone event from the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park.
