The King of Fighters will unleash its musical side in new iOS game

I’m a massive fan of SNK’s King of Fighters franchise, to the point that I own a 4 CD compilation of the series’ soundtracks over the course of its lifetime. Which is why I’m incredibly happy to hear that SNK Playmore is working on a rhythm game based on the King of Fighters fighting game franchise “packed with legendary SNK tracks!”

Referred to as “a ground breaking ‘Fighting X Music’ game for everyone to enjoy” The Rhythm of Fighters is set to come to iOS in the near future, granting users the ability to “unleash [their] favorite special moves following the frenzied rhythms.” While there’s not much more news than that at this stage, there have been a series of screenshots released, which look pretty sweet. For anyone in doubt that an iconic game series can have a successful makeover as a rhythm game you can also check out Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, which managed the jump with aplomb.

I’m really excited to see how this turns out. In the meantime, check out the screenshots below!
