Leonardo, An Incredibly Fast And Powerful Image Editor For The iPhone And iPad

Live histograms, saving layered images as PSD files, clone stamping, geotagging, layer masking… I’m talking about a desktop class app like Acorn, right? Nope. I’m listing features from Leonardo, an absurdly powerful universal iOS image-editing app.

What I like most about Leonardo is that it is (mostly) intuitive. If you want to re-order layers, you just drag them in the layer sidebar. If you want to apply edits to a layer (transparency, blending modes) you just tap that layer and the controls pop up.

I also like how deep the controls go. When you create masks, there are more selection tools than will fit into one iPhone screen—the column scrolls off the screen. There’re gradients, polygon and regular lasso tools, brushes, a magic wand and even color selection tools. Let’s just say that if you’re intimately familiar with Photoshop, you’re going to feel as if you’re spending time with an old friend.

The app is also fast. On the iPhone 5, edits are instant, with no delay. It’s actually faster-feeling than Photoshop used to be on my Mac.

The list goes on. There’s full EXIF and Geotagging support (and all metadata is exported with your pictures), and video tutorials inside the app.

How much for this amazing piece of software? $2. Grab it now.
