Apple Gives Employees Free Hoodies As A Thank You For A Great 2011

Apple has begun issuing its employees with Apple-branded hoodies as a thank you for all their hard work during a terrific year for the Cupertino company. In addition to a free hoody, employees also got extra vacation time over Thanksgiving, and some departments were given personalized noted from higher-level staff, according to 9to5Mac.

2011 has been a fantastic year for Apple, despite the loss of its co-founder and former CEO, Steve Jobs. Not only did it see the launch of the iPad 2 back in March — which has been an incredibly successful device, following in the footsteps of its predecessor and ensuring rival tablets from the likes of Samsung don’t have a chance of stealing any significant percentage of the market — but it also saw the launch of the iPhone 4S, which is shaping up to be the company’s most successful iPhone yet.

2011 also saw Apple overtake Exxon Mobil to become the world’s most valuable company; the launch of the Mac App Store, OS X Lion, iOS 5, and more. It’s no wonder, then, that the company wants to say thanks to its employees for all their hard work.

However, the Apple hoody doesn’t quite match the gift Google gave to its employees this holiday: a customized Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone. But even so, I know which company I’d much prefer to be a part of.

    cheers for a great 2011

You’d choose Apple over Google as employer? No matter how much you like Apple products (as I do) but that’s just crazy to be honest. Regardless, happy new year and keep up the good work!

A hoodie…really…wow Apple…give me a check for the hoodie instead so I can buy some coffee. Be like working at McDonald’s and they give you a free french fries for working so hard for them. Hey, you work but not hard enough so here’s a piece of crappy, Chinese made cloth with your job’s logo on it. Really, really, oh thank you so about a free pen!

I like Apple, but that’s just crap and a slap in their face…

Gotta stay warm when the doors to the store are always open.

  • Ja_ck

Wonder if they’re fair trade hoodies, or made in sweatshops like Apple hardware?

  • Steven Zahl

Shares of Apple stock would have been better.

  • Gabby Higuera

I would be happy to get a hoodie from Apple. It may not be a phone, but it still is a gesture of how much they appreciate the hard work the employees put in during 2011. I agree, I would much rather work for Apple then Google.

The Apple Hoodie would be much more useful than a Nexus (or any Android device).  Not only is it more useful – but the resale value would be exponentially higher as well.

Right because Dell, HP, and other vendors never use sweatshops right?

My friend was working on apple and he changed his profession and life build career because he discovered the best method to get a ipad for free. Each problem which I have with iPad it’s finished for me because my friend Mike helps me.
After he told me the best method to get a free iPad 2, it always helps me with all sorts of questions I have. This is his job and I appreciate very much his website
I hope that he will help you with your all questions. It is an amazing man. All my family got free ipads 2 + white smartcover. It’s a user proof category there if you don`t believe me. This man is my idol

How long before one of these shows up on eBay?? Any bets??

  • Al

True, but we expect more from Apple. We do pay more, after all.

  • Al

This isn’t the first report of Apple suddenly treating their employees like human beings. Tim Cook appears to be a first class CEO.

  • cassandralite

$80 billion in the bank and they spend a hundred grand on hoodies?  Hilarious.

  • Marco Torre

You bitches crack me up,  A hoodie is a nice gesture.  Nothing more or less.  Apple is free to do whatever they want, and of course you whiny bitches can knock it all you want.  What did YOUR company give you this year, besides a job?

  • cassandralite

    Bitches?  Really?  Stay classy, Marco.

“…ensuring rival tablets from the likes of Samsung don’t have a chance of stealing any significant percentage of the market.” Actually their lawsuits achieved that.
