Remember Dong Nguyen, developer of wildly popular mobile game Flappy Bird, who reportedly made $50,000 per day before pulling his creation from the App Store? Well, he’s back with a brand new game called Ninja Spinki Challenges!!

While it’s unlikely to match the success of his earlier title, the new game certainly shares Flappy Bird’s frustratingly hard, simplistic and addictive DNA.

Ninja Spinki Challenges!! (can’t forget those two exclamation points!) is a jokey ninja-training game that marks Nguyen’s first time working with an outside publisher. In this case, he’s teamed up with Japanese developer Obokaidem, which previously made PICK-XELL and Green the Planet.

Unlike Flappy Bird, Ninja Spinki Challenges!! gives players six different mini-games, requiring you to dodge oncoming objects ranging from rolling bombs and spiked balls to fruit and cannon fire.

It doesn’t have the insanely tricky difficulty curve of Flappy Bird or Nguyen’s more recent Swing Copters. It’s also, as noted, unlikely to capture people’s imagination in the once-in-a-lifetime way that Flappy Bird did. That game wound up being remixed into all kinds of weird projects.

However, if you’ve recovered from the frustration of the developer’s previous games, and want to put yourself through it all over again, you can pick up Ninja Spinki Challenges!! at the link below.

Fortunately, it’s free — unless you need to pay to repair your iPhone after throwing it at a wall in rage!
