Eager jailbreaker has already cracked iOS 10 beta

The first iOS 10 beta only made its way into the excited hands of developers this week, and already prolific iOS hacker iH8sn0w has managed to create its first jailbreak and post the proof online.

Talk about hitting the ground running!

iH8snow hinted at his ability to jailbreak the new mobile OS earlier this week, tweeting that Cydia does not cause iOS 10 to crash. His newly-posted untethered jailbreak shows a jailbroken iOS 10 running on an iPhone 5.

Given that this jailbreak is running on an older 32-bit device, most likely using iH8snow’s older iBoot exploit, I’d assume his jailbreak doesn’t necessarily work on newer 64-bit devices like the iPhone 6s. Still, it may help iH8snow — or other members of the jailbreak community — to develop a universal jailbreak for iOS 10 down the line.

In the meantime, he hasn’t revealed whether he’s going to be releasing the jailbreak or keeping it to himself. With iOS 10 still being a few months from release, I’d assume that Apple will manage to plug a few more vulnerabilities prior to launch — possibly including whichever weakness iH8snow exploited here.

Full points for being quick off the mark, though!
