After years of speculation, we’ve finally gotten the official movie poster for the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic — and, man, does it ever look great!

Keeping to the same minimalist style as the Walter Isaacson book jacket it’s based on, the poster shows Michael Fassbender striking a typically Jobsian pose, complete with plenty of white space.

Steve would surely have approved!

The movie is set backstage at three iconic product launches, beginning with the Mac in 1984 and ending with the iMac in 1998. According to the press notes we were sent, Steve Jobs “takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.”

Although we’ve seen two previous versions of the Steve Jobs story on screen (the TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley being my personal favorite), none have had this film’s level of star power both in front of and behind the lens.

In addition to Fassbender, the movie stars Kate Winslet as former Mac marketing chief Joanna Hoffman, Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, Jeff Daniels as John Sculley, Katherine Waterston as Jobs’ ex-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team.

That’s without mentioning Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle and The Social Network‘s Aaron Sorkin as screenwriter, of course. Who I guess we’ve now mentioned!

Steve Jobs will be the centerpiece of the 53rd annual New York Film Festival on Saturday, October 3.
