Sold gets bought by Dropbox. That’s a headline writer’s dream, and I just got to write it. Why? Because — wait for it — easy-selling service Sold just got bought by Dropbox.

It’s understandable if you never heard of Sold. I certainly hadn’t. Released on iOS last March, Sold made it easy for you to sell stuff online by automating the pesky process of finding buyers, handling shipping, paying sellers and figuring out what you want to sell is worth.

Unfortunately, Sold has now been shutdown, and it doesn’t actually look like Dropbox plans on bringing the service in-house. Instead, it seems like it’s just a talent grab:

After spending time with [Dropbox cofounders] Drew and Arash, we decided that the move to Dropbox couldn’t be better – their roadmap includes exciting new experiences which align perfectly with our ethos of creating products that positively affect people. Going forward, the Sold team will continue working together to build these experiences, shaping the future of Dropbox for their 200M strong user base. It’s an opportunity too good to pass up.

In addition, TechCrunch is reporting that the nine full-time Sold employees are working on a “whole new DropBox product.”

You can still download Sold from the App Store, but it’s no longer accepting new items, so, you know, why bother?
