2012 Apple Year In Review [Video]

2012 was a great year for Apple, and one of the most exciting for them in years. This year brought not only a myriad of new products, like the iPad mini and iPhone 5, but innovative software and services as well such as OS X Mountain Lion and iOS 6.

As 2012 comes to a close, let’s take a look back at Apple’s accomplishments for the year. If you’d like, you can also take a look back at 2011’s year in review here.

One of Apple’s most exciting years? you’re kidding right? iPhone 5 was a massive let down, and lets not even go into IOS6, for the first time in a while Apple was mocked massively…they were the butt of every map joke online and had a ton of iPhone 5′s slightly larger screen mocking images.

The mini iPad had them following a Samsung trend and then there was the Macbook Pro that can’t have its hardware upgraded? and forcing people to stay on IOS6 had them abusing their power.

This was a BAD year for Apple in terms of delivering something worth the massive price tag…I’m an Apple fan and have most products, but I think in 2013 they better really step their game up…they need the Apple TV Set, and to possibly lower their prices.

Oh dear, where to start. The iPhone 5 is Apple’s most successful phone to date, so to whom was it a massive letdown? While it’s screen isn’t as large at some Android models, it’s still larger than the 4S or any previous phone. It’s thinner and lighter than before yet has similar battery life. Is this bad?

The iPad mini has been selling like hotcakes by the millions. Just because the size is smaller than the original you think that Apple is now following Samsung? Eep!

Apple MAY come out with a TV or may not. Doesn’t matter. Apple will never lower its prices to be “competitive”. That would be like BMW coming out with a cheap car to compete with a low end Datsun or Toyota. It isn’t going to happen. Apple makes quality stuff and charges for it.

I think Apple has some good surprises for us in store for 2013. With Jonny Ive now in charge of both hardware and software interface design, I’m expecting some pretty revolutionary stuff — especially iOS 7 and Mac OS X. Oh, and Maps losing its pariah status by correcting its glitches and accuracy. I already love the voice input via Siri for Maps. No more typing in addresses!

So because the iPhone 5 bores you it’s one of Apple’s let downs? One of the things you will hopefully learn in life is to separate your emotions from the reality of the rest of the world.

…Really?…I feel like i’m wasting my time replying to this but I will anyway, just to correct a few of your points.

    1. iPhone 5 may be a great selling phone, that does not mean it is a great phone. This might be new to you but there are things such as marketing plans to which the average person is highly susceptible to, how else to you explain trash like X Factor etc churning out a shit load of sales for each end of series single. Good marketing and general consumer ignorance does not take away the fact that the iPhone 5 is hardly to the 4S what the iPhone 4 was to the 3GS. Thus my point, no…it was not a worthy upgrade for the price tag and a let down to those that actually know what new hardware and software was behind it all.

    2. Comparing Apple’s rivals to a shit car highlights your level of intelligence over such matters, I think you’ll find the new Samsung phone has had pretty impressive sales (more than iPhone 5 at times) as for Apple making quality stuff, again two words for you, Apple Maps.

    3. I think you fully overlooked the point that I mentioned i’m an Apple product user, you wrote your comment as if you’re trying to convince me to suport Apple over anything else, however unlike you i’m not impressed by being able to talk to my maps and want more from the company i’m supporting, and unlike you i’m not so brainwashed by a company that I would ignore higher spec competition just to stay loyal to a brand….why would i? unless Apple themselves were somehow benefitting my life in ways other than they are supposed to by taking my money lol…idiot.
