Taiwanese TV Commercial Shows ‘Steve Jobs’ with Halo and Wings

A TV commercial in Taiwan shows an actor dressed like Steve Jobs, but with wings and a halo, onstage introducing a new product. It’s not an Apple product, but a competitor to the iPad called the “Action Pad” from Action Electronics.

In the ad, the translation says: Introducing the next generation of the pad.” The commercial closes with the line: “Thank God, I can finally play another pad.”

Apple To Talk About “Exciting New Things” At Town Hall Meeting Tomorrow

Following today’s incredible earnings report for the first fiscal quarter of 2012, Apple CEO Tim Cook sent out a company-wide email asking employees to meet in Cupertino’s Town Hall tomorrow at 10 AM. The email notes that the company will be talking about “exciting new things.”

This internal meeting follows the release of iBooks 2, iBooks Author and the iTunes U app at Apple’s education event in New York City last week.

Apple is set to roll out support for 802.11ac “Gigabit Wi-Fi” this year to a range of devices including its Apple TV, MacBooks, Time Capsule, and possibly even its iOS devices, according to a new report. The new specification offers speeds around three times as fast as the existing 802.11n wireless technology, with speeds of over 1 Gigabit per second.

Publisher: Apple Rejects Our Apps Because They Don’t Understand Our Business

If you’re frustrated that your app was rejected from the App Store, you are in good company.

Scott Virkler, senior vice president of eProducts at global science and medical publishing behemoth Elsevier, had a few choice words about Apple’s approval process – and getting rejected by it.

Virkler, speaking in San Francisco at Appnation Enterprise, said his company had three apps rejected by Apple just last week, “because they don’t get our business.”
