Following today’s incredible earnings report for the first fiscal quarter of 2012, Apple CEO Tim Cook sent out a company-wide email asking employees to meet in Cupertino’s Town Hall tomorrow at 10 AM. The email notes that the company will be talking about “exciting new things.”
This internal meeting follows the release of iBooks 2, iBooks Author and the iTunes U app at Apple’s education event in New York City last week.
Here’s the email Cook sent out to employees, courtesy of 9to5Mac:
Team,
Thanks to everyone’s hard work, we’re off to a great start in 2012. Last week in New York we launched a groundbreaking initiative for education with iBooks textbooks, and today we reported the strongest quarter in Apple’s history. Please join me tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in Town Hall. We’ll review our record-setting results and discuss some exciting new things going on at Apple. The meeting will be broadcast live to many sites in Cupertino and other Apple locations. Please check AppleWeb for details.
Tim
Cook playfully dodged a question about the future of the Apple TV today during the earnings call, saying that the current set-top box is still just “a hobby.” While the Apple TV is continuing to sell well, Cook cryptically said, “We continue to pull the strings to see where it takes us.” Apple is expected to launch a standalone television by 2013, but there is no indication that tomorrow’s company meeting will revolve around such a product.

Tim Cook’s speech has been leaked!!!! Here it is:
“Today we celebrate the first glorious anniversary of the Information Purification Directives.
We have created for the first time in all history a garden of pure ideology, where each worker may bloom, secure from the pests of any contradictory true thoughts.
Our Unification of Thoughts is more powerful a weapon than any fleet or army on earth.
We are one people, with one will, one resolve, one cause.
Our enemies shall talk themselves to death and we will bury them with their own confusion.
We shall prevail!!!”
cough cough cough siri cough cough cough older generations cough cough oh excuse meÂ
The exciting things may not even be product related; they could be additional employee perks. Doubtful that Tim will share the details of the iPad 3 or the release date. Equally doubtful that Tim will share details related to Apple TV project or any other project that they don’t want leaked to the public. More than likely Tim will also cover the plans for Anobit as well as an update on the company’s philanthropy plans.
UPDATE: I was spot on!
Yah, no chance in hell that Tim will talk about new products.
