After months of being in beta, Apple has finally released iOS 8 for free to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. You can grab it now in iTunes or through Software Update.

iOS 8 introduces many new features, including the new Health app, Notification Center widgets, Handoff, actionable notifications, and Extensibility for developers. You’ll start to see many of your favorite apps offer features specific for iOS 8, like the ability to interact directly with other apps.

We’ve been digging into iOS 8 for months now, and we’re collected some of the best features to check out while you’re downloading. We’ll have more in-depth looks at aspects of the new OS throughout the day.

I may be in the minority here, but when I think of the type of TV show I’d picture Samsung as, my mind goes to scandalous political thriller House of Cards well before it does to Glee.

Which is, of course, why it makes absolute sense that Samsung is currently in the process of creating its own Glee-style “Musicom” (that’s a sitcom meets musical) centered around the lives of two fictitious young employees. Can’t you practically hear the songs already?

Called Best Future, the series will follow male and female flatmates, and is designed to portray Samsung as the kind of trendy-yet-lovable company people in their twenties and thirties would just love to work for.

In an excerpt from an interview with Charlie Rose, Tim Cook revealed that Steve Jobs’s office “is still left as it was” on the fourth floor of Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino. “His name is still on the door,” said Cook.

That says a lot more than any homage Apple can pay to Jobs onstage or in interviews with its executives.

For the last 2,078 days, musician Jonathan Mann has been composing a song a day.

For his latest ditty, Mann summed up Apple’s entire iPhone 6/Apple Watch event in song form, covering everything from the rather underwhelming iPhone 6 debut to the excitement of Apple announcing its first new product category in years. There’s even a funny chorus about the bizarre Chinese voice-over in the livestream.

Apple’s first wearable is heading full-stream down the product pipeline ahead of its early 2015 release, and to aid with the launch of its first fashion accessory, Apple has recruited the talents of Gap Inc’s second top marketing executive.

Marcela Aguilar joins Apple with a deep background in fashion and ad agencies after serving as Gaps senior global director of marketing and communications, and has plenty of global expertise that will come in hand as Apple tries to convince fashion forward women and men to slap an Apple Watch on their wrists.
