The Amazing Stories TV show anthology Apple recently purchased is already running into problems.

Showrunner Bryan Fuller has reportedly exited the project that is a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s old 80’s TV show of the same name. The split was supposedly made over creative differences.

Hot on the heels of the release of iOS 11.3 beta 2 this morning, Apple has decided to put out a brand new beta for macOS 10.13.4.

The new beta arrives nearly two weeks after Apple seeded the first macOS 10.13.4 beta to developers, bringing a bunch of bug fixes and security improvements to the Mac.

Apple loses out to HBO on bid for J.J. Abrams’ new sci-fi series

Apple may have $268.9 billion in cash on hand, but it doesn’t get everything it wants. According to a new report, Apple lost out to HBO on acquiring a new original TV series written by J.J. Abrams, his first since 2008’s Fringe.

Called Demimonde the series is about a family whose mom winds up in a coma following a car crash, after which her daughter and husband are transported to another world to fight a monstrous, oppressive force. HBO is describing the series as, “an epic and intimate sci-fi fantasy drama.”

The 2018 SXSW Conference is adding a fresh crop of faces to its speaker lineup this year, including one of Apple’s most popular executives.

Apple media boss Eddy Cue is set to make an appearance at the annual conference that’s a celebration of music, tech, movies and TV. All of which are areas Apple is planning to dominate in 2018.

Apple’s Worldwide Video team has a new exec to oversee comedy series

Apple has hired Dana Tuinier, a former creative executive for the Paramount Network and Fox, to help develop original comedy shows for its Worldwide Video unit.

Tuinier will be reporting to Apple’s head of development Matt Cherniss. Among her first jobs will be working on Apple’s recently acquired comedy series, starring Kristen Wiig. The series is inspired by Curtis Sittenfeld’s short story collection “You Think It, I’ll Say It,” and will consist of 10 half-hour episodes.

Apple makes big eGPU improvements in macOS 10.13.4

Apple rolled out its first macOS 10.13.4 beta on Wednesday, and testers have noticed big improvements to the way in which it handles eGPUs.

In addition to a new clamshell mode, it is now possible to connect and use an eGPU while a machine is already running.
