Apple today rolled out its second iOS 11.3 beta ahead of a public launch this spring. The update is available to download now for registered developers, alongside a second beta of tvOS 11.3.

iOS 11.3 bring a whole host of new features and improvements to iPhone and iPad. iPhone X users can look forward to new Animoji, while everyone else will Messages on iCloud, AirPlay 2, and Business Chat in the Messages app.

New features in iOS 11.3

Apple is also introducing ARKit 1.5, with the ability to place virtual objects on horizontal surfaces like walls and doors, and irregularly-shaped surfaces like round tables. The new framework also adds support for autofocus and a wider field of view.

A feature new to beta two is a Battery Health page Apple added to Settings in response to backlash to its iPhone slowdown practices. Users with older iPhones (iPhone 7 and later) can view battery health and choose between the best possible performance or battery life.

Other improvements in iOS 11.3 include more music videos and support for music video playlists in Apple Music, and the ability to view the version number and size of app updates on the App Store’s Updates screen.

New features in tvOS 11.3

On Apple TV, tvOS 11.3 also adds support for AirPlay 2, as well as enhancements to Match Content support, automatic frame rate switching, and automatic mode switching for AirPlay videos.

If you’re a registered developer running the first iOS 11.3 or tvOS 11.3 betas, which rolled out just two weeks ago, you can update now. A second public beta of iOS 11.3 is likely to arrive in the coming days.
