Keira Knightley will head up a TV adaptation of Sarah Perry’s 2016 novel The Essex Serpent for Apple TV+.

The novel, which is a period piece set in 1893, tells the story of a widow, Cora Seagrave, who moves from London to a small village in Essex after her marriage to an abusive husband comes to an end. There, she becomes interested in a local legend about a creature called the Essex Serpent.

Upcoming live-action Disney movie Mulan will be available to purchase through Apple’s TV app, Variety reports.

A remake of the 1998 animated movie, the 2020 Mulan will cost $29.99 to purchase on third-party platforms — Apple’s included — starting September 4. If that’s the only Disney content you’re interested in seeing right now, that’s actually cheaper than watching it via Disney+.

Apple TV+ series Little Voice came to an end Friday with the season finale episode debuting on Apple’s streaming TV service.

Producer J.J. Abrams’ series, created with songwriter Sara Bareilles and writer Jessie Nelson, tells the story of aspiring singer Bess King and her attempts to make a career for herself as a singer. Alongside the season finale of Little Voice, Apple TV+ also added a new episode of comedy series Ted Lasso.

Ted Lasso, the Apple TV+ comedy about a clueless American football coach who lands a job in Britain leading a team that plays that other kind of football, will come back for a second season, Apple said Wednesday.

Jason Sudeikas plays the lead in the show, which debuted on Apple TV+ last week. We’re only three episodes in to season 1, but so far, it looks like a winner. (Don’t take my word for it. Read the Cult of Mac review: Ted Lasso’s heart is too big to bench.)

Apple on Wednesday debuted the first trailer for On the Rocks, a new Apple TV+ movie that reunites Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola with actor Bill Murray.

The movie will also star Rashida Jones and Marlon Wayans. It tells the story of a young mom in New York having doubts about her marriage, prior to going on an adventure with her dad.

Production continues on season 2 of For All Mankind for Apple TV+

Filming has continued on the second season of For All Mankind, produced by Sony Pictures TV for Apple TV+.

According to Deadline, the Apple Originals drama had two episodes left to film when production shut down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Shooting reportedly resumed Monday on the Sony lot in Culver City.

Comedy series Ted Lasso is the biggest launch. The show is about a hapless American football coach who travels to the UK to lead a soccer team. However, there are also new episodes of The Oprah Conversation and Little Voice. Plus the debut of Sundance documentary hit Boys State.
