Still, all Apple’s phones and tablets released in the last 4 years are getting upgrades.

Last year, iOS 12 gave a stay of execution to older devices by supporting exactly the same iGadgets as iOS 11. This year, owners of aging iPhones and iPads may not be quite so lucky.

According to a new rumor, iOS 13 will not support the iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. On the iPad side, it will cut off support for the iPad mini and original iPad Air.

Even though CEO Tim Cook repeatedly says privacy and personal data are important to Apple, a huge majority of surveyed consumers still don’t trust the iPhone maker to lawfully protect their information.

All seven of the tech giants mentioned in a YouGov survey received jarringly negative results from an undisclosed number of respondents from the U.S. and United Kingdom.

Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Cupertino plans to release two new models of AirPods, either at the end of this year or the start of 2020.

In doing so, he partially backs up a report from earlier today claiming that the AirPods 3 will ship in 2019.

AliveCor‘s KardiaMobile has been cleared by the FDA to detect the three most common heart arrhythmias. It’s the only personal ECG cleared to do so.

That puts this pocket-size phone accessory well ahead of the Apple Watch, which can only detect one type of heart problem.

The end of a protracted legal battle between Apple and Qualcomm paves the way for the chipmaker to supply Apple with 5G modems for the 2020 line of iPhones.

Highly-respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made the prediction in a research note.

Some reports have suggested that a 5G iPhone may arrive this year (not likely) or next (a lot more likely). However, UBS analyst Tim Arcuri thinks both of these are too optimistic as forecasts.

In a new note to clients, Arcuri suggests that the chance of a 5G-capable iPhone for 2020 are “not good.”
