What’s Snabbit? I’ll tell you what it is: it’s Snake, all over again. Is gaming still all about collecting stars? This game is.
In Snabbit, you control a thing that’s a cross between a snake and a rabbit (hence the name, I suppose), navigating right-angle by right-angle through a maze in space. Obviously. Your simple task: collect stars, collect other shiny things, avoid maze walls, don’t get lost, don’t run out of time, don’t make any mistakes, and click in an addicted manner on the “Next” button every time you finish a level.
Of which there are many. Like all popular “Cut The Angry Ninja”-style puzzlers, levels here are very short and very quick, usually over in seconds. You need speedy reflexes to complete them, though, as a moment’s hesitation spells doom for your furry snaky star-munching pal.
Yes, it’s quite fun. Yes, it’s quite addictive. Yes, it will help you pass another few minutes of your life away in idle abstract occupation. It is very Snake-like, but there are a lot of extra ideas packed in as well.

Don’t forget to try Survival Mode, which I actually found more enticing and interesting than the game levels. It’s still much the same challenge, but there’s the challenge of getting a little bit further each time which pulls you back.
Playing Snabbit on a Mac or an iOS device means a lot of very rapid tapping. Quite soon, you’ll find your whole body is pulled into paying attention to what’s going on, because you can’t afford to lose concentration. Beware of this if you start playing the game on public transport, because you might find your elbows and frantic movements annoying your fellow passengers.
Pro: Fun and addictive, even for ungamers like me
Con: Collecting stuff in fast-moving mazes has been done before
