A gang of 14 thieves arrived on mopeds to raid Apple’s flagship store in Covent Garden, London, in the early hours of this morning and made off with a handful of valuable Macs and iOS devices. Robert Shoesmith, a man who is already camping out for the iPhone 4S, was woken up when the store’s alarm went off at around 1:15 AM.
Chinese police in Shanghai have arrested a gang of five people for making and selling fake iPhones on the black market. Unlike the other fake iPhones we’ve seen, however, these ones were made using a selection of real iPhone parts.
San Francisco Police have requested surveillance footage from the bar in which an fifth-generation iPhone prototype was reportedly lost by an Apple employee back in July. The footage won’t be used in the iPhone investigation, however, but rather an internal probe into how the police assisted Apple’s search for the device.

Now, the SFPD is saying that officers did in fact help Apple in the attempt to recover the mysterious iPhone prototype.

According to a recent Houston Chronicle story an iPhone has once again saved the day and solved a crime. This particular iPhone was stolen from a female jogger, who was jogging with a friend, during an armed robbery that occurred in the 700 block of Brittmore on the west side of Houston, Texas.
The alleged robbers exited a pickup truck and confronted the two women according to Houston Police Department (HPD) spokesman John Cannon. An Apple iPhone was turned over to the robbers by one of the women and fortunately neither of them was hurt.
