Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak get credit for ushering in the personal computer revolution. All Chuck Peddle did was power it.
Peddle, whose low-cost microprocessor allowed Jobs and Wozniak to mass-produce the Apple II, died on Dec. 15 at his California home from pancreatic cancer. He was 82.
Apple museums have popped up all over the world, but none with the quirky love that filled the rooms of Adam Rosen’s Massachusetts home. He passed away in August and grieving family and friends vowed to find a new place to plug in his self-made Vintage Mac Museum.
Rosen’s father, Robert, told Cult of Mac the family has donated his son’s collection of more than 100 working machines to the American Computer and Robotics Museum in Bozeman, Montana.

Jony Ive has been largely quiet since his departure from Apple was first confirmed back in June. But now Ive has resurfaced — through a charitable contribution to the Daily Mail newspaper’s orchard-planting campaign.
Ive, who was instrumental in placing trees into Apple Stores, has donated 100,000 British pounds ($131,000) to the paper’s Be A Tree Angel campaign. Ive’s contribution will enable 1,000 orchards to be planted in 1,000 schools across the U.K.

Struggling Apple display-maker Japan Display could sell Apple and Sharp its main smartphone screen factory, a new report claims.
Japan Display still owes Apple more than $800 million for the plant, which it built four years ago for $1.5 billion. It could recoup this money by selling the factory to partners including Cupertino.
