Multiple reports of Apple’s new CEO Tim Cook responding to customer emails have surfaced recently. If you recall, Steve Jobs was known for occasionally emailing back and forth with Apple fans and customers from his public [email protected] address.

It looks like Tim Cook is picking up the mantle and doing the same.

The best mobile browser for Android has just hit iOS. Called Dolphin, the browser specializes in being a gesture-based way to navigate the web, but does Dolphin have what it takes to go head-to-head with the competiing alt-browsers… let alone Mobile Safari?

Apple released iTunes Match to registered developers last night, and many have been playing with the cloud service since then to figure out how it really works. We then showed you a video that demoed how Apple lets you “stream” music.

As it turns out, iTunes Match doesn’t actually ‘stream’ music in the purest sense of the word. Instead, Apple lets you download music on the fly, which basically means that you’re still locally storing songs on your device.

Remember the Japanese hand case? This iPhone case isn’t as creepy, but is just as misguided. Unless you’re a prop comic, you probably shouldn’t buy this.

What have Apple and erectile-dysfunction drug Viagra got in common? They are both wildly-popular and hot items on the Chinese counterfeiting circuit. Little wonder then, that the iPhone maker hired the head of drug-maker Pfizer security to root out fake smartphones and tablets in China.

How obsessive is Apple’s attention to detail? In their just opened 4th Street store in Berkley, California, everything is symmetrically aligned, from the squares on the sidewalk to the panes of glass to the stone floor tiles inside.

Go into the staff toilet and I’ll bet that even the toilet paper is hung just so that it could be unrolled and stretched in a straight line to align symmetrically with the sidewalk. Crazy… and totally awesome.

If you’ve got a massive music library, better think twice about syncing it with iTunes Match: the maximum size of an iTunes library in the iTunes Match beta is 25,000 songs. Assuming a library in which song is an average of 4 minutes long and compressed in CD quality 320kbps, that basically means the upper limit on a library is a size of 250 gigabytes. That’s pretty generous for a $24.99 a year service.

Apple has temporarily closed down the iTunes Match beta to developers trying to access it for the first time after Apple launched their match-and-stream music service yesterday afternoon.

We’ve seen Mac sales soar amid a flat PC market. Now its the iPad’s turn. Apple is expected to see back-to-back quarterly growth of tablet sales in September and December nearing 20 percent as rivals are rejected by consumers and clothes-lined by the courts.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard would allow you to assign applications to a particular space using a control panel in System Preferences. This is no longer the case with Mac OS X Lion which offers a completely different option for assigning applications to spaces.

When Apple announced iTunes Match at WWDC back in June, it was a little unclear whether the service would allow you to stream your music library to your iOS devices as opposed to storing it locally — allowing you to access your tracks without actually taking up any of your precious storage space.

Following the launch of the iTunes Match developer beta yesterday, it has been confirmed that streaming is possible with Apple’s upcoming $25/year service.

That’s what the developer NetDragon is trumpeting about Conquer Online — a MMORPG already playable on the Mac, PC  — when it arrives on the iPad. When? “In the coming weeks.”

It’s finally here — for U.S.-based developers, anyway. iTunes Match, Apple’s upcoming new service that takes your iTunes library and mirrors it in Apple’s cloud so it can be streamed has just dropped in Beta form.

Microsoft is in the process of developing Windows 8, and the Redmond giant has posted an analysis of what it’s calling “Improvements in Windows Explorer.” We’ll leave you to be the judge of the “improvements” made in Windows 8, but we couldn’t resist showing you Microsoft’s idea of a “streamlined” interface in the new Explorer.

With the announcement of the iPhone 5 and a potential second model on the horizon, analysts are predicting a strong holiday season for Apple. In fact, Apple could make up to 22 million iPhone units in Q4 of 2011 alone, with the iPhone 4 oddly enough still accounting for the majority of sales.

We recently told you that famous jailbreak hacker Comex had been hired by Apple. Comex, who’s real name is Nicholas Allegra, is known for creating the easiest and most user friendly jailbreak for iOS devices called JailbreakMe.

Comex was recently profiled by Forbes, but besides that one interview, he has declined to comment about the status of JailbreakMe and his new internship at Apple. Well, that is.. until now.
