Here it is folks. The new iPhone 4S. Although apple.com is struggling under the load right now, we’ve managed to grab some images for you. More as soon as we can get them.

9to5Mac points us towards the 5% dip in share price of AAPL stock since the iPhone 4S was debuted. Sure, it’ll probably rebound, but investors aren’t happy about having to wait 16 months for a mere speedbump of a phone. What about you?

Confused by the whirlwind of Apple news from today’s Let’s Talk iPhone event? Don’t worry. We got a quick break down of all the new stuff Apple released today, including details on the iPhone 4S, Siri, iPod Nano and the highly anticipated Cards app.

iPhone 4S – Looks just like the iPhone 4 but the guts have been revamped for speed. The  new A5 chip (Same chip in the iPad 2), has a dual-core CPU making it 2x as fast at CPU tasks. Graphic performance on the iPhone 4S will be Up to 7x faster in the previous iPhone. 8 hours of 3G talk time, 14 hours of 2G talk time, 6 hours on 3G browsing. Also of note, the wireless system in the phone has been updated to include two separate antenna. iPhone 4S can intelligently switch between antennas to transmit and receive. This will lead to improved call quality and 2X faster download speeds (Apple was calling it 4G speeds, but we’ll save you the debate on what is and isn’t true 4G).

Wondering how the iPhone 4S stacks up stats-wise against the iPhone 4? How much of a speedbump is it really? This Is My Next is already on the case with a breakdown table, and what it comes down to is it’s a much faster and more capable device with better battery life, at the expense of just three grams additional weight. Wow.

How do you follow an act like Steve Jobs, the best presenter in the business?

The answer is you can’t, and you shouldn’t even try.

Tim Cook should be given credit for that, even if his performance at the iPhone 4S launch today was subdued and low-key.

Apple has already updated its website with information about the iPhone 4S, including a video presentation.

Meet the new iPhone family. As you can see above, Apple has updated its line of iPhones with new prices and the 4S. As predicted, the iPhone 4 has been dropped to 8GB at $99. The iPhone 3GS is free with a carrier contract.

iPhone 4S pre-orders start Friday, October 7th. The 4S will ship next Friday on October 14th.

Availability? AT&T, Verizon, and you guessed it.. Sprint.

The rumors are true. Apple is introducing a Siri-based voice control functionality to iOS 5 and the iPhone 4S, called Siri, not Assistant, as reported.

As we’ve previously detailed, Siri will intelligently help you get things done just by asking.

For example, on stage, Apple asks his iPhone “What is the weather alike today?” Siri then responds with “Here is the weather for today” along with a screen showing the weather.

Scott Forstall took the stage at Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event to talk about iOS 5 numbers. Following Tim Cook’s talk about Apple’s numbers for its main platforms, Forstall gave some specifics about how iOS 5 is faring in the mobile space.

Phil Schiller introduced the iPhone 4S today at Apple’s iPhone event. The devices boasts the A5 processor for dual-core graphics, making it 7 times faster than the previous iPhone.

It looks exactly like the iPhone 4. Yeah.

To show off the graphic capabilities of the new iPhone 4S, Epic Games came by to show off Infinity Blade 2, the sequel to one of our favorite games on the App Store. Here are some screenshots, after the jump.

So here’s the deal with the iPod line.

For the iPod touch, nothing’s changing, except it will now come in white and black and start at $199, down from $229. No 128GB iPod touch, as we thought was a definite lock: the device still maxes out at 64GB.

We’ve already discussed the new iPod nanos, which are the beefiest updates. The iPod classic appears to have been killed off, but the iPod shuffle is still inexplicably around, starting at just $49. That seems redundant to us, how about you?

Overall, this is more or less a software and color update of the existing line, and not really new devices.

Tim Cook took the stage at Apple HQ today to welcome everyone to today’s event. He welcomed everyone to Apple’s Town Hall, and mentioned how the company launched the iPod 10 years ago in the very same auditorium.

It’s time to talk numbers.

As everyone suspected, Apple’s giving us a new iPod nano to play with.

Although the same form factor, Apple’s changed the interface to be easier to navigate, mostly by making each icon take up the entire screen: you swipe between them.

The fitness experience has been improved. Out of the box, you can now track your walks and runs without adding any extra sensors or devices. Just go for a run, come back, plug it in, and your data will automatically be tracked on Nike+’s website.

Also? New clock faces have been added for people who want to use the Nano as a watch. “Why not do it right?” There’s a Mickey Mouse watch, an LED watch, and more.

The iPod nano will come in seven colors. Prices start at $129 for 8GB and $149 for 16GB.

Apple has just announced a new iCloud app called Find My Friends.

The idea is this: a way to quickly locate your friends around you. You can easily locate friends and family, as long as they have an iPhone.

You don’t always need to share your location using Find My Friends. Simple privacy controls allow you to easily and temporarily share your location just long enough for a buddy to, say, find you at the local coffee shop.

This basically confirms October 14th iPhone 4S launch.

Apple says the iOS 5 GM will be dropping later today for developers.

Apple just announced an all new app that they are working on, called Careds.

On the surface, it looks like just a silly postcards app, but the idea is that Apple will allow you to create cards and letters on your iPhone or iPad, and then they’ll physically mail out to you.

A card will send $2.99 to mail nationally, and $4.99 to mail anywhere in the world.

Cards will be a free app available on October 12th, directly from the App Store.

The Apple Store is down, for pretty obvious reasons. When it goes back up, expect to see the iPhone 4S there, at the very least. Could we see new products on top of those, though? In an hour, we’ll know all.

The alleged victim of tactics used by Apple security employees seeking to recover an iPhone prototype is considering filing a lawsuit against the tech giant. Sergio Calderon, a 22-year-old San Francisco man claims Apple workers impersonated police officers during a search of his home.

Following its teasers last month, Adobe has released Flash 11 for Mac OS X — and other platforms — along with AIR 3. The applications promise to deliver cutting edge 3D graphics that Adobe says will offer “console-quality” gaming, and performance up to 1,000 faster than Flash 10.

Okay, we all know the next iPhone is going to be announced in a little under three hours… but which one? The iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5?

Claiming they have been “briefed” on today’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event by “sources familiar with Apple’s plans, the guys over at The Next Web say they’ve confirmed the iPhone 4S, which will have the same form factor, an A5 processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera with “improved optics” and more. Don’t expect the iPhone 5.

Despite Sprint reportedly taking a $20 billion gamble to get into the iPhone game, Apple’s new iPhone 5 won’t work on 4G networks. The new handset won’t operate on LTE or other 4G networks which are just starting to roll out, according to the Wall Street Journal.

It’s something we’ve been saying for a year: an LTE or 4G iPhone is impossible until 2012 at the minimum.

Samsung’s desperate bid to save its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Australia has been turned down by Apple, and could mean that one of the iPad’s biggest Android rival never sees its launch down under.
