Margrethe Vestager, the European Union’s commissioner for competition, said Thursday that Apple’s decision to not offer its artificial intelligence upgrades for iPhone and Mac in the European Union is an admission that the company knows the features are anticompetitive.

In contrast, Apple says interoperability requirements in EU law would make the AI features a risk to user privacy.

Budget flash drive sports USB-C and USB-A connectors [Review] ★★★★☆

UGR Tech Dual USB-C + USB-A 3.2 High Speed Flash Drive review★★★★☆
UGR Tech Dual USB-C + USB-A 3.2 High Speed Flash Drive is better than you might think.
Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac

UGR Tech Dual USB-C + USB-A 3.2 High Speed Flash Drive plugs into your new Mac or iPad but it can also be used with devices that still have an old full-size USB port.

It’s a low-cost flash drive so I was very suspicious. But the aluminum exterior is quite rugged, the design is clever and the accessory passed a fraud test.

You’ll want to change these three Apple TV settings after you set it up

Apple TV settings: Fix Its Biggest Problems
Fix the remote, the Home Screen, and those pesky sports notifications.

There are three Apple TV settings I always tell people to change as soon as they set theirs up. While I heartily recommend the Apple TV over the clunky and ad-infested experience of Roku and other smart TVs, it’s not perfect. You’ll want to change a few things to make it right.

First of all, you can put one of the Siri Remote buttons to better use. The TV button, by default, opens the Apple TV app — but you can have it take you to the Home Screen instead. Also, you’ll want to change the Home Screen to show your Continue Watching list, not its recommendations. And finally, you can turn off those annoying Apple TV sports notifications to stop the interruptions while you’re watching your shows.

Then, you’ll have the perfect TV experience. Keep reading or watch our video.

Looks like Cate Blanchett might get a vile taste of her own medicine at the hands of Kevin Kline in upcoming psychological thriller Disclaimer, according to a “first look” at the limited series Apple TV+ put out Tuesday. That could be dawning horror on the Oscar winner’s face in the new image, above.

Notably, Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Gravity, Roma) created and directed the show. Based on a bestselling novel, Disclaimer premieres on Apple TV+ October 11.
