These utterly gorgeous minimalist icons for the Mac are about to get installed on my iMac, and you should do the same. Featuring icons for all of OS X’s core apps as well as popular third-party apps like Spotify, Sparrow, VLC, Firefox and more, this custom icon set can easily be installed using Panic Software’s CandyBar, which is completely free.
Stunning, don’t you think?

Nothing better than to do everything you can to make OS X look like Windows 8.
meh…. nice and simple, but too flat looking for me.
So, where exactly can I download these icons, since CandyBar seems to rely on 3rd Party icons and not a repo of its own.
These are pretty cool, but still I can’t wait until the bland/flat look is no longer a thing
Are you completely mad? These icons are ugly.
why would you do that?
Some of us prefer that the UI not draw attention to itself and let the content have the focus. One of the more subtle implementations of skeuomorphism is the glossy , embossing, and shading added to many icons and UI elements.
I like the “flat” look of Win8 but dislike the oversized “Fisher-Price My First PC” UI elements. I’d love to see the elegance (of the usability) of OSX Mountain Lion extend to appearance. Flat, simple, clean.
