The white iPhone 4 will be here shortly, and given Apple’s difficulty getting it to market, you could be forgiven for thinking that it is in some way unique compared to the regular iPhone 4 besides chromatically. But nope, it’s basically just an albino iPhone 4, albeit with a different proximity sensor design… and it’s just as prone (or not prone, depending on your personal feelings on the extent of the problem) to the fabled iPhone 4 “death grip” as its predecessor, as this video from Italian Apple blog iSpazio makes clear.
End result? White iPhone 4 drops a bar, but signal isn’t otherwise compromised. Someone alert Consumer Reports: they haven’t had a tizzy about the iPhone 4 lately.

seems fine to me… anyone who holds their phones with a death grip deserves no signal
Lol. But is that a CDMA white iPhone 4 with the new antenna style? If that is a GSM white iPhone 4 then why is this even a story?
Everyone has to know by now that Apple used the cover of the Verizon iPhone 4 launch to mask the fact that they made changes/improvements to the original GSM model’s flawed antenna design with the claim that it had to be specifically done to accommodate the CDMA bands. But in case you all forgot when the phone was gutted by iFixit it was no surprise that the darn thing was already inbreed with dual GSM/CDMA world phone capabilities.
The genius here is that regardless of when they release the iPhone 5 Apple has found away to continue to clear out stock of the GSM iPhone 4 with it’s flaw antenna design over the next 6-9 months of to people all over the globe WITH one new colour option. Think about it…if that NYC kid in his bedroom made 200K selling white iPhone 4 kits then multiply that figure by an Apple tax and you have a new wad to add to the Apple cash reserves. Lol.
Did you think that the white paint was going to stop this from happening?
All this is just boring old iPhone 4 news. Don’t tell me your going through ALL the old iPhone 4 stories for a follow up are you? pft.
to late whitey, just wait for iphone5..
Isn’t surprising. And technically, there is no new sensor design, as it’s EXACTLY the same as on the black iPhone 4. Surely people aren’t thinking that this “magical” iPhone 4 with a different color would have any changes in antenna…
Wow, this is shocking news. I thought the white color will fix all that issue. Maybe a red one will.
This exact same story with the same source is on other websites as “death-grip is *not* an issue on new white iphone.”
@Son1ze: (below) – you don’t “do” facts do you?
Here is a hint:
“Everyone knows” that anyone who starts a sentence with “everyone knows” is actually a serial bullsh*tter. Almost nothing you say here is actually true, and none of it makes much sense.
Lol @ prof_peabody “serial bullsh*tter” wisdom… Actually I prefer use the term “serial dogsh*tter” but I digress…
