Verizon will stop bundling a free Apple Arcade subscription with its older 5G plans later this year. The carrier started offering this perk in 2021 in a bid to acquire more customers.

A standalone Apple Arcade membership costs $6.99 per month.

Verizon’s older 5G plan gets less attractive

Verizon offered several perks with its 5G plans to acquire new customers. However, it removed these bundles from its newer, more expensive plans.

In May 2021, Verizon started offering a free Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass subscription to users on its unlimited plan for six months. Customers on the more expensive 5G Get More and 5G Play More plans received a year of membership.

However, Verizon will stop offering the free perk with its older 5G plans on September 25, 2025.

The My Verizon app already shows a warning that reads, “Effective September 22, 2025, Apple Arcade & Google Play Pass included with your plan will be discontinued.”

Time to pay for Apple Arcade

A support page provides more details about what will happen to your subscription after September 25, 2025.

  • If you have or get the promotional subscription that’s included with your plan, it will be canceled and removed from your account on 9/25/25.
  • If you have or get the 6-month promotional subscription and you enrolled on or after 11/3/21, if the 6-month promotion ends before 9/25/25, you’ll be subscribed to Apple Arcade and billed by Verizon for $6.99 per month plus tax per line enrolled, unless you cancel.

If you have not already, you should claim your free Apple Arcade subscription by September 22, 2025. After that, the perk will either be canceled or converted into a monthly paid subscription, depending on your plan. Even if you already pay Apple directly for Apple Arcade, you can still claim the perk from Verizon.
