Transparent Lomo Gives You The Mother Of All Light Leaks

I bought the original version of Lomo’s make-it-yourself Konstruktor camera, made it, shot a roll of film, loved the results, and gave the thing to a thrift store.

Why? Because film is a pain. In fact, I probably should have bought this limited-edition see-through version instead, as it would at least had a life beyond one single 36-exposure roll of film.

Konstruktor Transparent Collector’s Edition is just that: a limited edition for collectors, and is just as useless as any collectors-edition Leica in that neither will ever be used to actually take a photograph. In case you’re new to this whole film thing, a camera needs to be light tight lest stray photons get to the film and expose it with non-picture light. Hence the name, which comes from camera obscura, meaning literally “dark room.”

Anyhow, the kit is $59 instead of $35, as befits its rare status, and will presumably be just as fun to build as the original. Available now, for fun, or as a cruel joke for idiots.
