This new iPhone case from Kalomix is pretty mysterious: it turns the back of your iPhone 4 into a working chalkboard.
It’s called the iBlackBoard, and I can’t even begin to fathom the point of scribbling notes on the back of your iPhone when they’ll just be erased the second you push your handset into your pocket, especially when you’ve got Notes.
Here’s my best guess, though: back before the iPad, when everyone was calling tablets “slates”, someone got the idea of turning a tablet into a real slate using a case coated in chalkboard material and made a massive order of the appropriate material. A clever novelty idea, but when everyone stopped using the word “slate” to refer to tablets (mostly because Apple didn’t use the rumored iSlate name), the chalkboard case idea was re-appropriated for the iPhone 4 just to use material up.
At least I hope that was the rationale, because at least that isn’t totally inexplicable… unlike the iBlackBoard itself.
