This Magic Cable Fits Every USB Plug You’ll Ever Need Into A 40-Pin Apple Dock Connector

It’s usually pretty hard to get excited about an Apple Dock Connector, but this one’s fantastic. It uses a Russian Nesting Doll style of cascading connections to fit a mini USB plug into a micro USB plug and then in turn into an Apple 40 pin dock connector plug. For just $20, then, this is literally the only USB cable you need. Awesome.

Nope, for a iOS user this is just a standard USB to 40 pin adapter. To get the ‘Fits every USB plug you’ll ever need’ it would have to have the 40pin and Standard USB switched. As this design would not allow my iPhone to connect to my camera mini USB etc.

Curious, what does your iPhone do when it is connected to your camera?

Would there be any point with an iPad, which doesn’t recognise USB connection except for camera?

  5. Jesse Dacri says:

Apple’s connector is 30 pin, not 40 pins. How do they not know this when designing a product designed for a 30 pin port?

Its how Siri takes pictures of herself.

  7. MacAdvisor says:

The real problem with this cable is it assumes the two USB connections with start with the standard usb and connected to an alternative. The cable is useless for connecting standard to standard or 30-pin to 40-pin. It can’t even connect standard to standard.

Sorry, maybe I’m dumb, but I quite don’t understand the purpose of this item – so if you have plugged everything together, you end up with a 40-pn-connector on one end and a Type A USB plug on the other, exactly what the original 40-pin-connector cable is. Sure, you can separate them inbetween with Micro- and Mini-USB, but what’s the use of that? I just don’t get the point…

Instead of having to carry multiple USB cords to charge your different devices, you can use the same cord to charge anything that matches up with one of those ends.

Meh, Qmadix has been making those for awhile now. Amazon got it at $5.00 cheaper plus it’s retractable. I bought 2 of them to replace all my usb cables. Perfect for travel… http://tinyurl.com/6uyrvwh

Thanks cirrostratus, now I got it!
However, quite little advantage for so much excitement… I can’t remember I ever found the original cable to big or heavy ;-)
    Just my 2 cents…
