Try misspelling “abortion” in iOS. Does Apple help you spellcheck it like most of your mistakes? Nope.
It turns out that there’s a huge collection of controversial lingo and not-so-controversial-lingo that Apple takes a hands-off approach to with spellcheck.
The Daily Beast heavily researched spellcheck in iOS and how it ignored certain words like “rape” and “murder.” Offering a correct spelling of “suicide” is something Apple isn’t comfortable with. “Our analysis found over 14,000 words that are recognized as words when spelled accurately, but that won’t be corrected even when they are only slightly misspelled,” reports The Daily Beast.
The findings are a little surprising, but it doesn’t come as a total shock that Apple is playing it safe with something as nuanced as spellcheck. After all, this is the same company that heavily policies the App Store and obsessives over the tiniest of details.

And very well done to Apple for blocking those things violating the beliefs of the people… For instance, the UK forget that Christian beliefs prevail over others, yet gay marriage has been allowed..!! Despicable YOU 2013..!!

I think I want to respond to you and disagree, but frankly, I can’t understand what the hell you’re saying.
autocorrect doesn’t when you type stuff, but Siri has zero issue with *any* word you throw at it. Abortion, your various racial epithets, gay stereotype words, etc. I mean, this is what people tell me. I have no firsthand knowledge, obviously.

Oh shut up. The UK may have been a ‘Christian’ country in the past (like the dark ages) but religious belief was in decline in the last census and it continues to decline year on year, thankfully. You idiots keep believing in your fairytales if you want but don’t expect us rational people to live by your beliefs
