The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gave Apple TV+ its latest Oscar win, this time for The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. It is hand-drawn animation, and it therefore took home the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film.
The Oscar was awarded Sunday night at the 95th Annual Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
Oscar win puts The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse among the best on Apple TV+
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse is a 34-minute animated film that tells of the unlikely bond between four friends as they explore the meaning of kindness, courage and hope.
It is based on the beloved book by Charlie Mackesy of the same name. Mackesy also directed this film version.

Congratulations to everyone involved, including our teams across the globe. We are all celebrating with you tonight.”
The animated short was also recently honored with a BAFTA Film Award win, four Annie Awards including Best Special Production and an NAACP Image Awards nomination for Outstanding Short Form (Animated) film.
The Cult of Mac review calls it “one of the best animated films the streaming service has yet produced.”
