Aaron Sorkin and Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs movie bombed hard at the box office and failed to win anything at the Oscars, but the MTV Movie Awards are apparently a bit kinder than the Academy and the movie-going public. The Jobs semi-biopic just got nominated for the movie awards show’s Best True Story prize.
Kind of ironic, given Steve Jobs’ myriad inaccuracies, don’t you think?
Steve Jobs’ competition in the category includes Concussion, Joy, Straight Outta Compton, The Big Short and The Revenant. Jobs was not nominated in any other category, which means no prizes for Kate Winslet or Michael Fassbender (despite both being heavily praised for their performances).
Unlike the Oscars, fans can actually vote for the MTV Movie Awards, by entering the words “MTV Vote” into Google’s search bar. Viewers will find out if their picks for movie of the year won when Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart host the ceremony April 10 at 8 p.m. Pacific time.

Stories about this movie are like some bad zombie movie… they just won’t die.
Anyone who ever intended to see this movie has done so. Can we stop?
The MTV Movie awards are the equivalent of coming in last but being told you are a winner anyway.
The excellent performances by Winslet and Fassbender made the glaring inaccuracies and out-right fabrications more painful than they already were.
