Soundcore’s new flagship Liberty 4 Pro earbuds boast the company’s most sophisticated active noise cancellation (ANC) yet, plus a cool new charging case with a screen and touchbar that let you view and adjust settings on the buds, the company said Thursday.

At Cult of Mac, we’re always happy to hear about new products from Anker’s audio brand, Soundcore, because they’re often excellent. I’ve reviewed several, like headphones, earbuds and Bluetooth speakers, and plan to review the new Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro earbuds, as well. Ahead of that, tomorrow I’ll publish a review of the recently released Soundcore Space One Pro noise-canceling headphones.

The new buds bring some new features worth noting, like ANC boosted even more than usual, plus a cool new charging case that shows and helps control settings.

Optimal noise cancellation and innovative charging case

The Liberty 4 Pro boasts Soundcore’s most sophisticated adaptive ANC system to date, the company said. It employs six microphones and a barometric pressure sensor. And the ANC 3.0 algorithm adapts to environmental changes three times per second, ensuring optimal noise reduction in various settings.

And another major new feature of the Liberty 4 Pro is its charging case. It includes a built-in screen visible through the top cover in two of the three color variants (Glossy Light Blue and Glossy Black; the White case is opaque, so you have to lift it to see the screen). This screen displays current settings and works in tandem with a touch bar on the front of the case, allowing users to adjust noise cancellation and transparency modes easily.

Audio performance, battery life

The earbuds employ Soundcore’s ACAA acoustic architecture for excelling sound, combining a 10.5mm woofer with a 4.6mm titanium tweeter in a coaxial design. Android users can take advantage of LDAC support for high-resolution audio playback.

The Liberty 4 Pro offers impressive battery life, with up to 10 hours of playtime (ANC off) or 7.5 hours (ANC on) on a single charge. The charging case extends this to a total of 40 and 30 hours, respectively. A quick five-minute charge provides up to four hours of playtime.

Users can personalize their audio experience through the Soundcore app, which includes HearID for tailored sound profiles and an 8-band customizable EQ. The earbuds also support multi-mode spatial audio and feature Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

Liberty 4 Pro features:

  • ACAA 4.0 coaxial driver architecture
  • Supports Hi-Res Wireless and Hi-Res Audio
  • Supports LDAC
