If there’s one note that’s almost guaranteed not to be in any of the zillions of to-do apps spread across your devices, it’s “Find new to-do list app.” However, should you actually have that entry scribbled down somewhere that you can actually find, then you can now cross it off the list: The app in question is called Silo, and it’s pretty slick stuff.
Silo comes in iPad, iPhone and OS X versions, as well as a web app, meaning you can use it anywhere. It is also dead simple to use, using the kind of swiping gestures that will be familiar to anyone who uses Clear or Mailbox.
The app is as flat as flat can be, and easy to use. To add a a new entry to a list, pull down and then type in the new space provided. Tap and drag to rearrange the order of the list, and swipe to mark the task as done. Click the list title to go back to the main page, and from there you can swipe the list to bring up the sharing options.
It’s all very intuitive, and the trippy music in the video certainly helps me to feel very calm about to-do lists in general.
And that’s – almost – it. Silo has another great trick up its sleeve: X-callback-URLs. Using these you can integrate Silo with other apps. For instance, you could create a new note in Drafts and send it to Silo, whereupon you’ll be prompted to choose a list to store it in, and then (optionally) sent back to Drafts. The spec for the x-callback-url scheme is in the developer section of the Silo site.

Oh, I get it. When Blackberry 10 introduced gesture based motion on the Z10 and Q10 phones, people say it’s too complicated and hard to adopt. When it appears on the iPhone then it’s cool..Hilarious!!!
