The SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive packs up to a terabyte of storage, but is tiny enough that you can leave it plugged into your MacBook. SanDisk touts it as “the world’s smallest 1TB USB-C flash drive.”

Outgrown the storage capacity of your older MacBook? This drive could be just the boost you’re looking for.

The mini SSD can even be used with an iPhone, as well as an iPad.

Add a terabyte of stay-in MacBook storage with SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive

A typical way to add storage capacity to a computer is with SD cards, but Apple avoids putting built-in readers for these into most of its products. The SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive is an alternative that works with every Mac desktop, MacBook, iPad, and iPhone. Simply plug the SSD into the device’s USB-C port.

SanDisk calls it a plug-and-stay accessory. The drive is small enough that it can remain connected to your MacBook even when you are carrying it around. That makes your photos, videos, documents, etc., always accessible.

Expand your iPhone storage by 1TB without a bulky SSD

Any USB-C drive can plug into an iPhone, but most are too bulky for this to be very practical. In contrast, the SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C Flash Drive is tiny enough to really serve as an SSD for a handset.

iPhone users should note, however, that the drive offers USB 3.2 Gen 1 for up to 400 MBps speeds in the 128GB to 1TB variants. That’s not fast enough for 4K120 ProRes video recording.

Still, wide compatibility means the same drive can be used to store and easily share files meant to be used on a desktop, tablet and handset. Or a group of such computers.
