Ubisoft released Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on Monday for iPhone, iPad and Android. The award-winning action-adventure platformer challenges players to use Time Powers to defeat time-corrupted enemies and save the land.
The game runs at 60 FPS on recent generations of mobile devices.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown launches on iPhone
The Prince of Persia series began in 1989 with Jordan Mechner’s groundbreaking cinematic platformer, which, set in medieval Persia, tasked an unnamed prince with escaping dungeons and rescuing a princess from the evil vizier Jaffar. It established the series’ blend of acrobatic platforming, sword fighting and narrative inspired by Arabian Nights folklore. Core elements of the long-running series include fluid movement, combat and puzzle-solving in a Persian setting.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown premiered on consoles in 2024, and there’s a macOS version, too. These were joined by an iPhone and Android port on Monday.
The game puts players in the mythological world of Mount Qaf as Sargon — a talented young warrior from the elite group known as The Immortals — gets tasked to rescue the kidnapped Prince Ghassan and restore balance to a once-magnificent, now-cursed land. Players must master Sargon’s Time Powers, combat skills and platforming abilities to defeat a variety of time-corrupted enemies and mythical creatures. The game also challenges players to solve puzzles, discover hidden treasures and complete quests as they uncover the mysteries of Mount Qaf.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown can be played on the go without an internet connection with either an external controller or touch screen controls. To make the game better on mobile, it includes auto-potion, auto-parry, and slow time options, as well as other changes.
