OmmWriter Brings Writing Bliss to the iPad

With a number of applications running in the background while we’re hard at work, desperately vying for your attention, it’s easy to get distracted when one of them catches your eye. A solution to this problem is OmmWriter – an award-winning application that helps you block out the distractions that surround you at your desk and enables you to focus on your writing. The team behind this magnificent word processor have now brought OmmWriter to the iPad.

OmmWriter helps you get lost in your writing by obliterating the background and providing you with soothing ambient music that makes for a perfectly calm writing environment. For those who have grown to love the application on their desktops, the same experience can now be had on the iPad – and I highly recommend it.

OmmWriter for the iPad is priced at $4.99, which you may think is a little steep considering the Mac application is also $4.99, however, you’ll struggle to find another iPad app like it. It features 4 different fonts and text sizes; 7 different audio tracks, typing effects and backgrounds; 3 different keyboard layouts and built-in brightness controls.

If you haven’t already used OmmWriter, try it free on your Mac or PC.

OmmWriter Brings Writing Bliss to the USA, more likely; the app isn’t available in Europe, which is odd since the company is based in Barcelona. For some reason this seems to happen more: for instance, Essay, an app akin to Ommwriter, was available outside the USA but for some reason isn’t any longer. Let’s hope this isn’t a trend.

It’s available in the U.K. because I just purchased it. I’m sure it will roll out around the world shortly.

Apparently only in countries whose language they support. Which leaves those that wish to use English (or German/French/Spanish) but don’t live in the proper country in the lurch, unfortunately.

Most of the so-called “relaxing” music they use drives me round the bend a bit though. If they could somehow make SomaFM play in the background I might buy it.
