The Apple Watch just launched seven weeks ago, but people are already speculating what the next generation of wearables is going to look like.
And some early reports say that Apple’s sticking with LG to make displays for the Apple Watch 2.
Apple usually likes to line up deals with multiple suppliers to prevent manufacturing issues, but it appears to be sticking with LG to churn out the plastic-organic light emitting diode (P-OLED) screens for the next watch, MK News reports (via iKream.
LG is already Apple’s sole supplier for the current Watch’s P-OLED displays. The manufacturer is trying to put this tech — which is more flexible and bendier than standard OLEDs — in as many gadgets as possible, including super-thin TVs and its own curved Flex smartphone.
If LG’s screen tech remains prominent, which a continued and exclusive deal with Apple would certainly not hurt, we can expect to have all kinds of crazy, bendy tech coming our way. Imagine a high-definition TV that you can roll up and take with you or a tablet that folds into a laptop. LG is planning these things.
We love living in the future.

LOL Tata Swinesung.
I bought a LG laptop 3 years ago. My friend picked it out actually based on aesthetics. It had a 1 year warranty and sure enough before the year ended the screen spawned a vertical red line near the side of the screen. Within warranty I took it to LGs repair shop who said that I had to wait a few weeks for parts. After a while they called me in and the replacement they gave me fixed the red line but had a lighter horizontal line in a different place. I pointed it out and they said they ran out of screens and only had this one. Needless to say I rejected it and asked for a real fix. After one week they called me in again and fixed it. Another 6 months later, the exact same problem arose again in the same position. Now the laptop was out of warranty. I decided to live with it. I’m never buying LG devices again.
Yeah … I might cancel my Apple Watch order … the 2nd gen could arrive sooner.
Honestly, about the only thing you should be speculating right now is if you have a job in 2 years time because of writing filler articles like this that have ZERO purpose. Half of the shit you guys come up never eventuates. It’s like you cannot live in the present and honestly who gives a toss what screen they use. On the other hand, what brand of connectors does Apple use in the phone, you know, those little tiny ones that connect the battery to the main board? Sorry I got caught up in your pointlessness :)
