New FIFA Android And iOS App Allows Fans To “Never Miss A Moment”

FIFA has launched its new app as part of the countdown to 6 December’s 2014 football World Cup draw.

The free app is available for both iOS and Android devices, and offers not just the live draw in streaming video, but also match schedules, destination guides and team profiles for the tournament — set to take place in Brazil in summer 2014.

The main feature, however, is the “World Match Centre” in which users can optimize the app’s filters to show only results pertaining to their preferred clubs and competitions — thereby bringing the app into direct competition with the likes of The Football App, which claimed last month to be attracting 4.5 million users.

Of course, being an official app, you’re unlikely to find anti-FIFA stories there — making this something of an equivalent to a state-run media in a totalitarian country — but many fans will likely be won over by the app’s depth and easy-on-the-eye design.
