More Evidence Confirms Apple Plans On Keeping The iPhone 5 Around

Earlier this week, we posted evidence that even after Apple unveils its new mid-range iPhone 5C device, it could keep the 16GB iPhone 5 around for customers who want a classier, more solid phone at a discounted price. Here’s some more confirmation.

As discovered by German site Flo’s Weblog, Vodafone Germany plans to discontinue several models of iPhones with the release of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. As spelled out in an internal email, the 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5 in both black and white will be killed off later this month, although no date is given

This seems to corroborate a report from Canadia carrier Telus earlier, who told employees that , the 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5 models will no longer be available for sale starting on September 28th, 2013… about a week after the iPhone 5S and 5C are expected to debut in Canada.

So here’s Apple’s 2013-2014 iPhone line-up. For $0 on-contract, you can get a plastic, colorful iPhone 5C. For $99, you can have a 16Gb iPhone 5. Or for $199 or more, you can get a top-of-the-line iPhone 5S. There you go!

Gotta admit, I’m kinda disappointed in Apple’s terrible job at keeping secrets this year. At the same I wouldn’t be surprised if they were intentionally careless to create a diversion for bigger things to come *fingers crossed*
