Mailbox, the iOS app that makes whittling your inbox down to zero as easy as a few finger swipes, has been working to bring its popular service to OS X since April, but after a long beta testing period it’s announced that Mailbox for Mac is finally available to everyone.
The Dropbox-owned service opened its beta to the public in August with a wait list system that is being removed today. You can now just download Mailbox for Mac directly from the company’s website.
Mailbox for OS X uses a feature called Auto-swipe to manage your inbox that’s sort of like a more intuitive, native version of Gmail filters. The app learns what threads you typically do and don’t archive and preemptively archives your junk. There’s also a Snooze feature and task-oriented system for saving items for later.
Along with the public beta release, Mailbox updated its apps for iPhone and iPad with customized swipe options, optimized UI for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus displays, and fixed iOS 8 push notifications.
