Reports of Apple launching new M5 Pro-powered MacBook Pros have been circulating for a while now. With shipments of the M4 Pro/Max models delayed by a few weeks, all signs point to an imminent launch.
But exactly when will Apple make its move? Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has now offered a more concrete timeline.
Wait until March for M5 Pro MacBook Pros
All signs initially pointed to Apple unveiling its new high-end MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in January, but that never happened. Attention then shifted to an early February announcement. That window, too, has now passed without any official word from Apple.
In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the wait for M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pros will stretch on for a few more weeks. Apple apparently plans to announce the new laptops during the week of March 2.
“The new MacBook Pros, meanwhile, are tied to the macOS 26.3 cycle that runs through March,” says Gurman.
iPhone 17e may debut ahead of M5 Pro MacBook Pro
An early March launch would mean Apple unveils the iPhone 17e first. A recent report suggested the budget iPhone could debut on February 19, exactly one year after its predecessor launched. After that, Apple will seemingly release the first developer beta of iOS 26.4. It will arrive in the week beginning February 23 with the new Gemini-powered Siri.
Gurman also says the iPhone 17e is “due imminently.” Two of its most notable upgrades include a faster A19 chip and support for MagSafe charging. More importantly, his sources indicate that Apple will retain the $599 price point. The company will seemingly market the iPhone 17e aggressively in newer markets and enterprise environments.
Apple will also unveil the M5 MacBook Air, a refreshed base iPad with A18 chip and the Mac Studio with more powerful chips in the coming months.
